To unlock the silver version of an instrument, complete the bonus tour for that instrument on any difficulty.

Clear Instruments
To get a clear instrument, you must finish a Band World Tour and get a PR firm and body guards. Then you'll be invited to play at Moscow's Hall of Fame Concert. Finish 8 set song list and you'll unlock all the clear instruments for your band.
